1959 9 Hole Fender Strat Green Nitro Pickguard With the Original Back Metal Shield
This SALE is For The 1959 Fender Strat Pickguard With Sheild ONLY... As you can see I am parting a 100% Excellent + Rare Killer 59 1st year Brazilian Rosewood Neck Fender Strat Pickup Assembly... This Pickguard is Part Of Leo Fender History. I just wanted to Share some Fender History, in posting some of All Pictures... Plus Nice to have providence as to where a Vintage Strat Part came from...
In Mid 1959 Leo Fender did the Best Up Grade Ever to the Fender Stratocaster. The Fender Strat got a Brazilian Rosewood With Clay Dots & Fret Markers Fretboard. And Fender started out with a 8 hole Green Nitro Pickguard with a Full Metal backing shield. Then a 9,10,11 hole screw pattern to hold the Pickup Assembly to the Strat Body.. Settled on the 11 hole screws and has been used since late 1959..
This a 2nd Run during that time.. ( mid 1959 to end of 1959) A 9 hole..
This is in excellent shape plus. I have it on a 1961 Strat body to show you it lays flat, not all shrunk up, no cracks.. and no extra screw was added to mount right on this body. If 1 wanted this pickguard can be made into a 11 hole Strat pickguard by drilling 2 holes and counter sinking a little just like the other screw holes so to have the oval head screw lays flat on top of the pickguard.. Or I can do it for you.
Rare to find a pickguard in this shape now days, if you can even find any worth purchasing..
