1964 Orig PRE CBS FENDER STRATOCASTER NECK WITH TUNERS & STRING TREE (Complete!)
This 1964 Pre CBS Fender Stratocaster Neck is 100% Original
It came from Fender on a 1959 Custom Color Sonic Blue Strat I purchased from the original owner. In early 1964 he had the Fender Dealer where he purchased new, send the whole 59 Sonic Blue Strat back to Fender for a R&R, which stands for Repair and Restoration. The finish was peeking off, and the 59 neck went bad, and the Green Nitro pickguard had the usual crack up by the low E neck pickup screw.
So you can/t fix a neck if it twists or bowes up, they wasn't wearing jeans with holes in them, and SRV didn't gets us wanting played to death looking Strats yet. So the 59 Strat came back with this new 64 Neck. The stamped numbers in heel are there to keep All parts together for this warranty work as it went threw the channels at Fender on it's way back home to the owner. This gentleman played guitar for a living most of his life. The neck has many hours on it and you will not find a better playing, feeling Pre CBS Neck anywhere. Also think , when is the last time you seen a 64 neck for sale, not on a 22-25k 100% Strat.
I played the Strat/and this Neck for many years.. As one of those gems that just can't put down... no hurry to list or sell... I'm having fun..... personal Stratocaster.. So I personally know this Neck, inside and out. It plays and sounds perfect and again 100%
Original frets are a little low, but again. Perfect playing, feeling, sounding, no fret outs, neck is arrow straight, truss rod is not all the way in or out... much room for adjustment if ever needed, but it's 56+ years old now. and has been played and enjoyed as evidence of the worn in home wear on the back of this PRE CBS Fender Strat Neck!
In My book Dec 1962 to March 1964 was FENDERS Best Time for putting out the Best Chimmy Bell Tone Sounding Playing Strat and Telecaster's. Every darn one I ever played, bought, sold kicked butt.. I'm in the high hundreds on selling Pre CBS Fender guitar's whole over 25+ years as my only job. 90% are Fender. So just my opinion.. But I can back it.. :)
