1963 ORIG Wide Profile Fender Strat Neck
Early 1963 March Neck date
PRE CBS Dream Tone Here!
Neck has a Pro Jumbo Re Fret and slight compound radius done to it.. Plays Great, not a better neck out there for string bending, and Bell Tone!... HOW The Heck you beat the Tone of PRE CBS Neck with Nitro Finish and Brazilian Rosewood!!
Back of on neck only has a slight over sprayed ( on back of neck only, Not the headstock)in nitro, it's thin and orig finish under it. Black lights shows all. This was done many years ago, and this neck was on the March 1963 Strat played and the player I got the Strat from was a working musician... He earned his income from this Strat*****
The whole Strat was EARNED dirt and sweat All over, LOL
The decal was was played or polished off all but the word Fender. See pics and black light. I added the word Stratocaster and Pat # and Orig Contour Body on tip of headstock from 1 of my own stash real Fender decals.. Looks very good, and the choice I made in doing this. Just saying Fender didn't cut it.. The neck will make you want to do lead All day, and you will bend notes easier than you thought possible!
1st fret is 7.25" radius, then gets flatter to 9.5" at 21st fret.. thus a compound radius.. as SRV had and many other Pro players
1st fret is 20.72mm
12th fret is 24.46mm
To sum all facts up again:
Basically I wrote all the facts. Just a Unreal PRE CBS Fender Strat neck. Pro played. Player was in a band and did session work and played and opened with many famous bands over a span of many decades. He had a band but not famous famous like the Rolling Stones.:)
Has pro re fret, part of decal was missing, so I added part of a real $150 PRE CBS one out of my stash.
Has flatter radius, for easy no fret out string bends.
Neck plays and sounds great.
Back of neck has slight over spray over original well played finish.
The way I look at it, why was it played so much??... :)
