1963 Orig Under the Bed Gibson SG & Amp Collector Mint

For the collector of only the finest examples on the planet, this one is a true museum piece--finest of the fine. This is a one-owner set, essentially you be the second owner of this 48-year-old set.

Original owner got the guitar and amp for Christmas, 1963, from Migrant Music, formerly of Kokomo IN. , never got the hang of it, and into the closet it went. He says his guitar never even left his bedroom and prior to being shipped to me, still had original factory strings on it. Needless to say the guitar is 100% original. I was the first person to remove the control cover - all original electronics with original solder everywhere. No overspray or touch-ups - the original finish is as clean as it looks with the cherry finish as vibrant as the day it left the factory and almost no checking

Lettering on the knobs looks perfect, nickel hardware hasn't tarnished, pickguard and binding haven't yellowed, even the tuners look like reissues--but they're not! The amp is almost as clean as the guitar with the only flaws being two small scratches on the panel and, inexplicably, around a half-dozen tiny pricks in the covering on top . It is the cleanest brown-era amp I've ever had and it sounds perfect. It was recently benched and whatever glitches it may have had were corrected. Like the guitar, 100% original and unmodified, with transformer dates '62 and '63. interior looks almost factory fresh. Included in the case is the original Allen wrench in a brown envelope.

This guitar plays great with a straight neck and comfortable action. Tuners, which have probably been turned a dozen times, keep it in tune perfectly with no slippage. Electronics are quiet (for P90's) with no scratchiness in the pots or switch.

Ok I have to say this. This is Mint to me, the pictures and video don't lie. I just want to say you buy this, don't come back with I found this spec you didn't say or show etc. I detailed this very good and many clear everything. I choose to use the word Mint, because for 48 years old it is. Really No guitar ever is Mint, if your anal anal... You hold this guitar in your hands, it's like going back in Time... a Kool Time... :)
