This a is a Sept 1962 Fender Jazzmaster Pre CBS..Brazilian Rosewood Neck, that was Professionally had the headstock re shaped into a 1962 Pre CBS Fender Strat Headstock.. Only a small amount of wood towards the top was shaved off over 45+ years ago. This was a Professional Old Timer Fender Authorized Repair/Builder Luthiers That did this Mod....
A 1962 Fender Stratocaster or Jazzmaster Are the Exact Same Necks..There Neck Pocket, The Scale (Length) ,
Same Scale.... Same Single Line Kluson Tuners, Same Nut Width.. 1-5/8"..... Clay Dots and Fret markers,.... Both are Brazilian Rosewood Fretboard...Nitro Finish.. All as a Strat. Just a little diferent headstock shape.. Jazzmasters were a hair bit larger in that 1 area and of coarse a different waterslide headstock decal.
Look at the 1 picture I have showing a Pre Cbs Strat/Big Headstock Strat, and Jazzmaster headstock shape/size. You can figure this out.
I have own this Neck OVER 15+ years, as in my own personal stash..
The Neck is of the 1st Brazilian Rosewood Veneer Fretboards from Fender after the Mid 1959 to Middle of 1962... Also note: SRV #1 Stratocaster had a Dec 1962 Veneer Fretboard.. Many think or read online that is was a Slaboard.. It wasn't
The Neck Plays Great, Truss Rod works fine, has a real deal NOS Pre CBS headstock decal, I did a re-fret with Vintage Talls Fret Wire 10+ years ago.

The last 7 photos on here, is this Sept 1962 Neck, Next to a Aug 1963 Strat Neck. To give you the look, and see it's every BIT AS GREAT as a 1962 Strat Neck.. But $2,500 to 3k less money.. Any way you look at it, it's a 62+ Year old Fender Neck! That works for me.
