1960's Guyatone Lap Steel Set, Includes HG-66 Lap Steel and Model A Amprifier ("A-m-p-r-f-i-e-r") (hey, it was made in Japan you know...). They even called them "Amprifiers" in their catalogs (pic). This is an excellent sounding set-up and while I think the amp was designed as more of a guitar amp, it matches the lap steel very well. The Model A is an all-tube combo (chassis pic) with unusual but readily available tubes including a pair 6AR5 power tubes with a 5MK9 and 6AV6 preamp. All are NEC brand tubes and, I suspect, they're the original set. The amp has a lot of punch and although probably rated at 5 watts or so, is plenty loud and has a nice singing sustain at higher volumes. It was not one of those amps designed to not break up and it does have a quality overdriven tone. 1960's Guyatone are pretty rare finds. 579 1327 290. A nice little set with quality tone.

I been playing this amp with 1 of my 1955 Gibson Les Paul Jr. Darn nails the Jimmy Page tone UNREAL. Just me the little amp in my office sitting in a chair with a wood floor, ceiling and walls. You could of Recored with this Tone. It was just neat! It just kept sounding better and sweeter when them tubes got warm!*!

This will be packed in a Big box, bubble wrapped and peanut to death. No that hang tag not included, I got that off the web.
