The silent pickups are much better than the SCNs they're putting in many of Fender's guitars today. They are much clearer through the whole range. With the TBX tone you can really dial in a variety of nuance I've not seen from another guitar.
The TBX features of this have been listed, a classic '50s strat, much like a classic chevy, but with a engine that's been bored and polished to take anything that's foolish enough to challenge it. The TBX control is the feature that makes the guitar unique. A very unique way to have contols at your finger tips. If you set your dirty channel on the edge, it allows you to stay back in the mix until its time to bring out the solo, dial up the mid-boost and your dog is growling, when done, roll it back and your back where you need to be. The amount can be blended and altered on the fly. No running to the stomp box with no way to adjust it. If you want, go through a pedal and roll up the boost for extra edge. Its really great.
I've read where Clapton worked with Fender to make a guitar that would keep him from needing to change to a humbucker style for his earlier stuff during his show. This guitar isn't a Les Paul, but it is darn close when you mix the pups, roll off the treble and turn up the mid-boost.
