1956 Fender Stratocaster Pickup Covers
These came off a 7/56 Strat. These are the very first try of plastic other than bake lite from Fender. Notice the extra plastic on edges? This is Fenders first try at making these. They are cracking like old days, Harder looking as 1950s plastic is. Yes not $3,000-$4,000 bake lite (you never find) covers, but 50 years old and correct for late 1956.Hey you wont see these in a blue moon again!
TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT AS ALL 56 STRATS HAD BAKE LITE, IT IS NOT TRUE. FIRST I BOUGHT AND SOLD AND SEEN MORE STRATS THAN 99% OF PEOPLE ON EARTH, SECOND AS WRITTING IN 'The fender Stratocaster" by A.R. Duxchossoir, page 64 top right it says, plastic started in late 55. As these pickup covers came out of a 56 strat, all orig, but refin, 1 owner, and I seen these early pup covers with this tooling before. Live and Learn.
