1956 Orig Fender Strat Compare Pickguards To 82-84 Fullerton 1957 USA Reissue Strats. The last of good ole at the Fender's Fullerton California Plant
These are my words. I learned most my knowledge or expert brain cells buy other old timers, way before the internet and by reading them things are called books. But 95% is the buying part. You spend large amount of money you will learn what your buying. I Also had more high dollar lessons I had to learn the hard way.
The Fullerton White single ply Pickguards can turn a yellow/patina white. The Real deal don't
The Fullerton is thicker, not much
Fullerton has flat back underside, real 50's are shinny
Notice in the pickup screw holes are bigger on the 1956 guard, than Fullerton.
The edges on real deal are rough and not sanded down to much. Pickled.
I been asked a million times on this 1 question. It does help to had the real deal in your possession and compare.
To me the 82-84 Fullerton Strat are as close as your going to get shy of paying $3500 for the 1956 Pickguard and back metal plate. The Fullerton metals are not as thick.
