1954 up to 1964 Fender Tele White Single Ply Real & Repo Pickguard Lesson
Over the years I have seen many Pickguards on Pre CBS Fender Tele with a White Single Ply Pickguard and Tele Owners think they have a real Vintage Fender Pickguard on their Vintage Fender Tele...and it's not. Some Dellers online are selling as real, and they're not.
With out a Real 1950's Guard in person to compair with, it is not so easy call, as the older repos are pretty close to Fender guitar that Leo was puting on the Maple Neck early Telecaster

If you did not have another Real Deal Original Pre CBS Fender Tele single white ply pickguard and a (1980's) WD single white Pickguard for a Vintage Fender Tele.in your hands to study and compare both. To a un trained eye mite overlook this and pay $2,000 on a $20 reissue Pickguard from a dis hinest seller, or 1 pretended they didn't know it's not real...or pass it on to.. Well I bought it as the real deal.. You know what I'm talking about!
This mite sound minor as they do both look close in everything, but 1... $20 bill ( value of a WD Repo white single ply Tele reissue pickguard)..... laying on the table next to 20, $100 bills that a 1954 Tele Pickguard will cost you... That doesn't look so close to me....:)
