Rick Kelly "Protocaster" Snakehead
THESE GUITARS ARE HAND MADE FROM SCRATCH. ONLY 100 YEAR OLD GROWTH OLD OLD WOOD IS USED. NOW I'M HERE TO TELL YOU THIS TELE PLAYS AND SOUNDS BETTER THAN A MATERBUILT 5K CUSTOM SHOP ONE.
Rick Kelly is a builder of killer guitars, based at Carmine Street Guitars in NYC. Light Swamp Ash (old growth remember) Weight is 6lbs, 15oz
Jumbo Frets, Hand made bridge. Kelly USA
The Guitar LOOKS like it was built in 1940s Leo Fender Days!!
This Protocaster is a single pickup Esquire style that's based on the original Fender Tele "Snakehead" that Leo built in the late 40's. Fender Custom Shop came out with a Ltd Ed matching Snakehead guitar and amp set a few years back for like $10K!
Bodies are hand-cut at his shop, using the oldest and lightest swamp ash available.
Duncan Antiquity Killer Pickup. The Guitar is Not a thin tin Tele per say. I just LOVE the Tone. The Tone knob sounds great at 5 thru 10. Just unreal Tone from using the Tone control. Most guitars all knobs have to be on 10. If you know what I mean. I know Tone, I know Fun and Vibe. Nitro finish, Pro set up and Playing. Tight neck to body fit, also Nice not hanging over the body neck fit! Comes in a old looking Custom Shop Fender Tweed case. IF you wanted Rick to make you one, pay now, wait OVER 1 YEAR.
You won't be disappointed!
TO HAVE THIS MADE IT BE OVER 1 YEAR TILL YOU GET. THIS LOOKS AS A FENDER ESQUIRE BODY AND BLACK DOT NECK. IT WAS MADE in EARLY 1980's , NOW THEY DO NOT LOOK LIKE A FENDER
