In 1980 This 1969 Dunlop Cry Baby Wah Effects Pedal Metal Shell came from Jimi Hendrix Bass Player Noel Redding. Noel still played in bands after Jimi passed away.It was given to a Guitar Player that was on the same tour as Noel .They would hang out after the shows and struck up a friendship over this time. What Noel liked was talking about alot of stuff but not getting loaded on talk about Jimi and back in the day. As after many years after the fact it can get old.. and towards the end of the tour as they split ways out of the blue Noel gave this Original 1969 Wah to the gentlemen I acquired this pedal from. When I say shell, Im saying all you see that is old is 1969 ( the body, the top, the rubber on top of lid and as Jimi basically took apart for what ever reason.Remember Jimi tone, style, cloths, songs just didn't happen over nite. Trail and Error..He was decades ahead of his time.. In my book the best guitar player ever in my life time, if I had to pick just one person. You see the wear.. that is all from Jimi. The guts and bottom Area 51 built.. And COA is included
The person I bought it from had it in his collection for many years as just the shell then he got with the owner at Area 51 to build the inside to be exact or better than original . I also purchased 2 of Stevie Ray Vaughn's Owned and Toured with 1980 Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamers, they have both sold, I also purchased a SRV Owned and used (Tokia) Strat Neck from this same collector/player.
I sent a picture into Vintage Guitar magazine and it got printed in the Feb 2017 issue.. I know James there who I sent some pics and clearly said the Cry Baby shell was Jimi's, Area 51 restored the rest. It's all got documentation.. Well they got me in Las Vegas as a guitar dealer, and said the Strap was Jimi's...I am in Minnesota and it the 1969 Cry Baby Wah Pedal was Owned by Jimi Hendrix and Used By Him.. Still all the stuff in that picture is Cool and Fender...and 1969 ERA
Look at last picture. This is from left: Roger Mayer...Mitch Mitchell....Jimi Hendrix.....Noel Redding..... Basically Noel shared the history of this 1969 Wah pedal with player I bought from, as Roger and Jimi sit around and take apart pedals, to do this, try that, experiment with that..
