In making My version of #1, I did not route out the body for a lefty handed tremolo bridge or mess with the neck with other tuners. Or did any alteration to this body in as far as looking 100% like SRV. This 1963 Strat I bought whole, owned it as my own for 10 years or so. Had a real turtle shell pick guard on it. Had/Has Chimmey Dream City PRE CBS BELL TONE'' That we all seek or wonder when will I ever get that or own that Strat that has it. The one I'll never sell.. my quest is over! Simple folks. I put my 100% into a Real #1 SRV Strat. Sold it for 28.5k to another famous player from the 1960's in California. Some time later he decided to use parts from the Strat into another Strat build project) and I bought back this body. Ever notice every well known Strat player built his own, and had different year from different guitar's parts in them? Some it was to keep the Strat going, and many by trail and era.
This all happened over 14-15 year span. Me getting the 63 from NY to (me) MN. MN to CA. CA to MN. Sold all the parts as I got it as Randy had it. For me this Body will always be my most personal felt hunk of wood that I ever owned or sold ever... If you think I'm weird??? I never said I wasn't.. ha ha.. But everything I ever took a chance on in this life... ( Except the last 2 wives!) I have no regrets, and I built the only True #1 since Stevie..
The Body wear is all original and as Randy toured with it from use..
Yes I thought about building a SRV again, but to dam busy as it is or getting old.. Probably both!
