Alan Haynes has played with SRV and the list goes on forever.. He had this..1953, ES -125 right in his house out all the time for past 15-20 years. A go to couch guitar per say... The neck has pretty much well earn wear and is a big profile... As All Gibson are in early 1950's. He just left for a Europe gig and needed some money, so he sold it.. Trust me not all Blues players are loaded and living on Millionaire Row... it's why "They are playing the dam blues, brother*"
This is money in the bank buy. Not much investment. It is 61+ years old. You can play it unplugged or threw a Amp. The P-90 has the adjustable poles which is good, early ones had fixed poles. It has Vibe! MoJo! Makes you want to hold it!!!!
I clean and set it up with 12-54 SIT Electric Nickel Strings. Neck is straight. Solid Deal
The very short clip of Alan playing it in the parking lot right before he sold it, was tuned in E and doing a little slide, and 1 picture up against wall was in his place just fews weeks ago. Providence is good on a Vintage Guitar
The P-90 reads 12.32k Strong
As I said Neck Profile is Full Base Ball Bat Sized...22.44mm @ 1st Fret
25.84mm @ 12th Fret
Sunburst with maple top with f-holes, arched maple back, mahogany sides, 14-fret mahogany neck, 20-fretbrazilian rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays,Nitro Finish.. 1-11/16" nut width, 24-3/4" scale, one P-90 pickup, adjustable rosewood bridge, trapeze tailpiece, tortoise plastic pickguard, one volume and one tone control, white-bound body
Ser # Ink stamped inside is,Y5219 20.. Y = 1953
Comes in Original Hard Shell Gibson Brown Lifton Case with Pink Lining.. 95% of these came with a low end cradboard alligator case, and by now is falling apart junk
This example is a real beauty and in very fine condition. Its finish is in good shape, and there are no repairs or damage to report on. The tuner buttons have been replaced, but its otherwise factory stock. The tailpiece isnt the norm for this model, but there is nothing suggesting that its ever been changed, so were calling it original. The P-90 sounds incredible, and the electronics work well. Frets are original and mostly unworn, nut has never been off, and the guitar plays well. Set up in shop with .012s; round neck, 1-11/16 nut, 24.75 scale.
With original hard brown Lifton case with pink lining
