About a year ago coming back home to MN from a NY vacation visit. I stopped Arkron Ohio to pickup some repair work that I previously mailed and visit at Lays Guitar in Akron Ohio. Me and Dan (the owner) been buying, selling back in forth for many many years. Of coarse I came back with 4 or 5 guitars I bought from them. All Vintage, but this tribute 53 Tele. It just played and sounded so good I had to purchase it. This body is that of Masterbuilt Quality. Why does a Masterbuilt cost $9,000 instead of the mass produced $4,000 Custom Shop relic's? Attention to detail, but MOST OF ALL "THE Wood" Face it All the Best Tone wood is gone. I don't see any newer guitar's bringing in 6 figures, do you? Dan built this Tele for himself, after awhile he sells some of his personal guitar's to me. (He has a Vintage car restoration passion also:... thats how I get to buy his personal stash..) My point. This Tele body is hand selected wood he put away for years, then built. Lays has a full blown state of the art guitar CNC machines and laths etc in the basement, as well as a stray booth and this is Correct old school Nitro in see threw blond and air brushed shading under the pickguard and very good relic job. Heck with all that. It had it, I have no reason to not say it how it is and I only buy for resale choice guitar's. 20 years now. Not 1 part, guitar, amp.. nothing has ever come back to my shop. Thats to include 3400 sales on eBay from 10+ years ago.. I used to sell on my eBay, Gbase, EddieVegas.com, and listed everything on all 3 sites. I get great parts, from parting out guitar's of same. So if I say it came from a tone rocket I played that part. It works for me

Below are the specs of this 1953 build Here is an iconic Telecaster clone from "the best guitar player that you have never heard of" - Roy Buchanan. This is a custom creation from the nationally known builders at Lay's Guitar Shop in Akron Ohio. This Butterscotch / Black Guard T-Style is cloned from Roy's 1953 Tele that was pictured on his album covers over the years.

It has a swamp ash body, figured maple neck, Callahan bridge assembly, custom-wound pickups, and a custom wiring harness with CTS pots and orange drop caps.

. This guitar weighs an incredible 7 Lbs 3 oz.

This is a killer guitar with that vintage vibe of a correct relic. . You won't be disappointed in this body visually, structurally, or sonically.
